The CPC Girls Select Basketball program plays in the Eastside Travel League (aka ETL).
Tryouts: Held in late September or early October. Open to the public but if your daughter is not enrolled at CPC there is a process by the ETL to seek approval to play outside of a players’ feeder program. Tryouts are free.
Program Cost: The player fee is $525; plus a uniform cost of about $175. Uniforms are on a two-year cylce so you can purchase a little big in year one so you don’t need to re-purchase a new uniform in year two.
Practices: Start in early to mid October and are held at the CPC Bothell campus. Typically 6:00-7:30pm for the younger grades and 7:30-9:00pm for the older grades. Practices can be 2 to 3 day per week and may be on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday. We do not practice on Wednesdays. The days will move around a bit from week to week due to a complex schedule to accommodate the high school basketball programs also using the CPC gym space.
Playing Season: Early December to early March. The season runs about 14 games played on both Saturdays and Sundays (we try to keep the Sunday games to the afternoon). Home games are played at the CPC Bothell HS gymnasium; Away games can be anywhere in the Puget Sound region.
Tournaments: Each team typically plays in one or two tournaments as determined by the coach and a tourney fee of about $50-$60 per player will be collected at that time. These are commonly held over holiday weekends (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Presidents Day, and MLK Jr Day). Presidents and MLK weekends are the most common. There is also a state tournament that you must qualify for to be invited. The program pays for this tournament if a team qualifies as long as the coach is able and enough of the team members want to attend. This tournament is held in mid March and is the culminating event for the season.
